The former York Memorial Hospital will soon go to auction.
The auction will take place on June 14-16 on the auction site, tex-n.com.
The 11.72 acre property is located at 325 Belmont Street, Spring Garden Township, York County and includes the approximately 160,000-square-foot former York Memorial Hospital along with four individual single-story office buildings, together totaling an additional approximately 14,693 square feet of space. The main hospital building was built in 1961.
The bidding will start at $800,000.
The auction listing says there are numerous potential uses:
“The Property is zoned Apartment-Office (AO) and located in a suburban setting surrounded by professional business and residential uses. Approved uses in AO Zoning include multi-family dwellings, professional offices, daycare facilities, financial institutions and houses of worship, among others. The Property lends itself to conversion to multi-family, single or multi-tenant office, institutional uses, or a combination within a mixed-use development plan.”
UPMC Pinnacle Memorial relocated the hospital to the site of the former Hawk Lake Golf Course in West Manchester Township, York County in 2019. The hospital was put up for sale that year for $7 million.
The Elmwood Mansion, which was also located on the former medical campus was sold earlier this year to Inch & Co. Real Estate .
UPMC also sold a three story, 42,000-square-foot former surgery center building at auction this year to Red Lion Controls for $2.4 million.
The real estate firm handling the listing is NAI CIR.
