One of North Texas’ best-known commercial property firms is working on plans for a big business park in North Fort Worth.
Transwestern is gearing up for the industrial campus on East Bailey Boswell Road near Interstate 35W.
The three-building industrial project will contain more than 1 million square feet of space and is set to start construction this fall, according to planning documents filed with the state.
The largest of the buildings proposed in the development will be more than 500,000 square feet, and the total project will cost more than $42 million, according to design plans.
The North Fort Worth project marks Transwestern’s biggest recent play in the hot Dallas-Fort Worth industrial market.
In 2020, the commercial property firm hired one of competitor Trammell Crow Co.’s top officers — Denton Walker — to grow its industrial building operations in the D-FW area.
Walker was hired to significantly expand the firm’s logistics and industrial building operations across all of Texas’ major markets.
The D-FW area is the country’s fastest-growing industrial and distribution market with more than 30 million square feet of warehouse space under construction at midyear.
And the North Fort Worth area is a focus of many developers, with more than 5 million square feet of industrial space underway. Developers including Hillwood and Hines have new buildings in the works in that area.
