In an off-market sale, a four-bedroom house at 247 Jungle Road in Palm Beach’s Estate Section has sold for $15.91 million, the price recorded Wednesday by the Palm Beach County Clerk.
Pennsylvania businessman A. Richard Nernberg, who heads AR Building Co., and his wife, Susan, bought the four-bedroom house, the deed shows. Based in Seven Fields, Pennsylvania, AR Building Co. builds and manages multi-family properties, including townhouses, according to its website and public records.
The Nernbergs own no other property under their names in Palm Beach County, an online search Wednesday showed.
The couple bought the house from Gene Reed Jr., whose company, Gene Reed Enterprises, has owned car dealerships in North Carolina and South Carolina. Reed sold the house with his wife, Johnnie B. Reed, the deed shows.
The house last changed hands in 2016 for a recorded $8.94 million.

Completed in 2002, the L-shaped house has 8,787 square feet of living space, inside and out. About a half-mile south of Worth Avenue, the property measures about four-tenths of an acre and includes a two-story pool cabana with a one-bedroom guest apartment, according to previous sales listings. The house was designed by architect Patrick Segraves of SKA Architect + Planner of Palm Beach and developed originally on speculation by Palm Beacher Erik Waldin of Strand Capital Inc., town records show.
When it sold in 2016, the house featured interiors with beamed-and-coffered ceilings, a stately cast-stone fireplace in the living room, banks of French doors with fanlights above them, and floors covered in stone and hardwood, according to a previous sales listing.
Reed bought the house from Gilda Slifka, who had shared it with her late husband, businessman Alfred “Fred” Slifka. Broker Linda Gary of Linda A. Gary handled both sides of the 2016 transaction. Gary said Wednesday she was not involved in the sale recorded this week.
Reed, who had the house homesteaded in the latest tax rolls, bought his first home on the island in 2004, records show, and has been involved in several transactions since. In 2015, Reed sold, for a combined $10.51 million, two adjacent North End houses he had owned for a little more than a year at 1230 and 1233 N. Ocean Blvd.
