I found the article, “Science panel: Consider air cooling tech as climate back-up” on page 6A of the March 27 weekend edition interesting and quite frightening.
Not so long ago we were all going to die and the world would soon end because we were using aerosols, mainly fluorocarbons, which were going to destroy the atmosphere, now “scientists” are considering doing basically the very deed on purpose. Even invoking Abraham Lincoln’s name to bolster their claims. I did take solace in reading that some realize this to be a “dumb idea,” but then they would consider doing it any way?
When an article, supposedly science-based, uses terms such as dangerous side effects, dumb idea, lots of risks, unacceptable risks, moral hazard and questionable technology, I certainly hope it is an idea soon forgotten. But then we need to spend $40 million, I assume of taxpayers’ money, on yet an other boondoggle, that has failure written all over it. Again, I took solace in reading that potential “political fallout” was being considered, but then again those nine scariest words in the English language, comes into play: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
