LINN — State Technical College of Missouri in Linn has partnered with Toptracer to bring its golf ball-tracking technology to the planned driving range at the Osage Country Club.

State Tech took ownership of the Osage Country Club last year, and has since announced plans to transform the golf course into a multipurpose event and entertainment venue. Amenities at the proposed 31,000-square-foot structure will include a 50-seat theater, golf simulators, a sports bar, pro shop, outdoor gaming area, e-sports gaming zone, duckpin bowling and a 250-person event center.

Toptracer Range uses high-speed cameras to provide instantaneous ball tracking information to guests using the driving range.

Toptracer technology will be available at the Osage Country Club driving range with 10 heated and covered outdoor bays, according to a State Tech news release.

“There are only a few college golf courses with this technology. We are pleased to join that list,” State Tech President Shawn Strong said in the news release. “When you combine the technology with the elevated greens and contouring, this is going to be a great driving range.”

The plan is to allow range customers complete access to the Toptracer system using a Range Servant automatic ball management system.

In addition, events and leagues will be formed where groups of golfers can gather and play games, rounds of simulated golf, and enjoy food and beverages at the range.

The club has also hired Disc Golf Monkey, based out of Springfield, to design a disc golf course.

“Once the course is finished, it will be one of the premier courses in the state and country,” Russ Burns and Rod Borman, co-owners of Disc Golf Monkey, said in State Tech’s news release. “The course showcases a beautiful small lake that is utilized by many of the holes. Big elevation changes will challenge a player’s ability to throw both up and down hills. This course will have added amenities like bridges, baskets into rocks, and elevated holes, making it unique and a must-play. The course will have 10 wooded holes and eight more holes with beautiful manicured fairways. The plan is to have the wooded fairways be wide enough to plant grass, giving it even more beauty.”

The plan is to have Toptracer Range and Disc Golf up and running by the beginning of April.
